Honestly, it’s odd. Every time I get attention, I get it from the wrong person, I’m too dumb to notice it from the right person, and I seem to ‘fall’ for anyone who is persistent enough to get through my initial dumbness… It sucks!
I hate when every guy calls you “dearie, sweetheart, babe” without you consenting to it
I hate when they don’t clarify things and u don’t know if you’re a friend, (which you guess you are), an interest, or more
I hate when they talk to you ‘softly’ assuming that you’re the kind of girl that’s like every kind of girl that actually loves that kinda stuff!
I hate when they don’t give you a DTR. Three months in is more than enough for a DTR, idiot!
I hate when they openly flirt with/declare their love for other girls and still leave u in the picture as if you’re an option.
And worst of all, I hate when they still keep u on their radar, won’t let the relationship digress into a friendship, yet won’t make a proper move on you, like you’re their back up.
Well, I won’t be a back up. Here’s what I have to say to all of them:
- Dear friends, please don’t call me “honey, sweetheart, babe” as if I have agreed to it. I actually don’t like pet names, and I’m sick of acting like I do. Thank you! :)
- Guys, I am in a long-term no-dating phase. I’d rather not be confused by your advances. Please defer all interests to your other luv interests.
- I’m actually not a sentimental person. Stop making me feel like I have to be. Some people are just different.
- Don’t even think of starting something if you’re not gonna clearly define what’s going on, idiot!
But, here’s what I do instead: Just smile, subtly deflect all interests, and play along, as if I have no problems with it. Because I am a polite person. Or am I just a fool? ύ.ὺ
